My new Xbox 360 Microphone is acting weird! Please help.?

i found the answer through a friend and am still yet to take the steps to correct it.... apparently the xbox headsets Are very touchy... and its good to spend 40, 50 bucks and get a good headset the works via usb made for xbox. apparently my headset doesnt work properly either, nor does my friend... and also... yours..
